Ash Wednesday Service

Join us for our Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, March 1st at 6pm. The imposition of ashes is a long held Christian practice.  The ashes remind us to die to our old lives of sin and live into a new life of love and grace offered in Jesus Christ.

Our next study will be "Sacred Secrets" by Beth Moore, starting Thursday, March 9, and ending Thursday, April 20. To RSVP contact Jeannette Cox at 615-289-1262 or
The word secrets might evoke feelings of shame, guilt, or even fear. But not all secrets are bad. Study the theology of secrets with Beth Moore in this 6-session study. Some secrets need forgiveness, and some should be kept between you and God. Sacred Secrets is for busy women who do not have time for an in-depth study; however it does not lack richness or quality. Discussion potential abounds without any expectation of revealing private information. Join Beth to find out what happens when we let God teach us "wisdom in the secret heart" (Psalm 51:6, ESV).

New Sermon Series

Join us for worship this Sunday as we continue our 6-week sermon series on the Apostles' Creed. We will explore this foundational document of the Christian faith that espouses basic shared tenets of the faith.  On Sunday, we will first look at what it means to "believe" something in the first place and then look at the God, Father Almighty we claim in the Apostles' Creed.

Love for others is to be a hallmark trait of Christians. At First Church we hope to teach from God's Word how to love and then to actually live it out by his strength. Here are just a few of the ways in which we look to love those in our lives:
